23 March

Today was one of the last sessions of astronomy us sec 4s would attend before the CCA step-down. We went through some Astronomy questions, refreshing our knowledge on the subject. In addition to the astronomy subject, we also went through some calculus, a subject that has some close ties to Astronomy. I enjoyed the session and felt it was a useful and productive session, especially since it was one of our last ones.

Cassini Essay

As we have done every year we could, the Astro Club signed up for the Cassini Writing Essay, where we selected from a selection of 3 different planetary objects and wrote essays on which one Cassini should focus on. Once again, we scored an award for the most students submitting an essay for the competition. After the event, a few members(me included) went to the Q&A session with some of the engineers who worked on the craft itself.

AOGS Hyperwall

The Hyperwall was a group of nine screens linked together to function as one. As the name suggested, it looked like an actual wall.

The presenters used it much like a screen to aid in their presentations, where we learnt how satellites helped them in their work of monitoring the atmosphere.

Hi!

My name is Ernest Tan Yuan Jun, and I am a student of SST.

My CCA is Astronomy, and I will be posting some events from my CCA here.

I am interested in Astronomy as the Universe is so, so, large, with many things to explore out there. Space has so much waiting for us! Even if we can't go out into space proper, Astronomy is just as good.
